maria

Maria Ingold is a published author of several technical articles and has also written book reviews for the British Fantasy Society magazine Prism. She has recently written her first prose-based graphic novel based on ideas inspired by dreams and living in Highgate, and enjoys writing poetry, some of which is both influenced by and influences her art.

Her novel, Senseless, is about a young woman whose subconscious mind takes control over her dreams in an attempt to manipulate her life. It is told vividly through a series of dreams. Maria is collaborating with a new talented published book artist to illustrate the work with a series of vividly dream-like pieces. Maria has already started work on another novel, tentatively entitled The Light and an illustrated older children's book entitled Hollow'een.

Inspired by a real passion for reading, Maria found at a young age that she had a recognised talent for writing poetry, fiction and non-fiction. With the help of some well-timed creative writing courses and some excellent teachers, Maria honed her writing skills, and further developed them at IBM as a regular writer of magazine articles about multimedia.

Demonstrating the many strings to her bow, Maria has also worked for 17 years in the creative use of technology. In addition to this, she is a film, TV and interactive judge for BAFTA, which she finds incredibly rewarding.
