languages - bio
Contact Maria if you are interested in having her work on a Spanish or Japanese contract or project. Maria is happy for some travel related projects, especially to Latin America, Spain or Japan.
Maria Ingold speaks both Spanish and Japanese to a basic level, in addition to her fluency in both British and American English. When studying a language she also enjoys immersing herself in the local culture and customs.
Her passion for languages possibly comes from her father who speaks seven languages, also including Spanish and Japanese. It may take some time for her to catch up, but he did make sure she was familiar with the sounds in other languages at a young age, including how to trill her r's.
Growing up in New Mexico had a profound influence on Maria's multicultural identity, and not just because most of the United States thinks that New Mexico is a foreign country. Both English and Spanish are official state languages, and there are strong Mexican and Indian influences still in the state.
Demonstrating the many strings to her bow, Maria has also worked for 17 years in the creative use of technology. She is also currently writing a graphic novel, based on ideas inspired by dreams, living in Highgate and travelling. In addition to this, she is a film, TV and interactive judge for BAFTA, which she finds incredibly rewarding.
